February 2, 2012

We have made the very difficult decision to suspend the print publication of Seattle Woman. Continued economic uncertainty and fundamental shifts in the advertising and media industries have made it extremely challenging for our small company to continue to publish a vibrant, high-quality print magazine. We know that readers value the information and inspiration we’ve provided in every issue of Seattle Woman, and we regret that we are no longer in the position to produce this community resource in a print format.

Although we are suspending the publication of future issues, the current issue—our 2012 Women’s Directory—will remain in distribution until the end of February. Subscribers will be refunded for the balance of their print subscriptions. We will continue to connect with readers through social media and on this website, where all of our content is readily available. We plan to expand our online content with frequent postings and will make online advertising opportunities available shortly.

As co-founder of Seattle Woman, I am immensely proud of what the magazine has accomplished over the past seven-plus years. I believe we have made an important contribution to our region’s civic life by giving voice to our community’s amazing women. We’ve featured organizations making a difference in women’s lives, we’ve provided important health and career information, and we’ve celebrated the creativity and talent of hundreds of inspiring local women.

Our mission has also been to help advertisers grow their businesses by connecting them to prospective clients and customers. I am proud of our track record in accomplishing this and am extremely grateful to current and past advertisers for making the magazine possible. I am also indebted to our readers and subscribers for their enthusiasm and support.

I am acutely aware that Seattle Woman has been a success because of the talent and dedication of our staff, our freelance writers and photographers, and our distributors. All have been passionate about the magazine’s mission, and I will be forever grateful to them for the role they have played in creating and sustaining the magazine.

I hope that you will continue to stay connected with us through this website and via social media by liking us on Facebook (facebook.com/seattlewomanmagazine), following us on Twitter (@seattlewomanmag) and signing up to be on our e-mail list.

Thank you so very much for your support,
