Happy New Year! Our regular readers will notice that this issue of Seattle Woman looks a little different from our past issues. That’s because it’s our first annual Women’s Directory. It’s designed to give you lots of tips and tools for use throughout the year and to connect you to local resources for women and/or by women. We felt there was a need for something like this and are very proud to be publishing it at the start of this new year. The listings are also posted online, giving you quick electronic access to hundreds of local businesses that support women and (as our advertisers) enable us to publish Seattle Woman. And later this month, our Web site will have a whole new look, with more photos and access to all the stories we’ve done since the magazine’s debut in October 2004. Our regular format returns in February with an issue on relationships. It will have a lot of signature photos by our talented contributing photographer, Ingrid Pape-Sheldon, along with great stories on issues like caring for an aging parent or helping a friend who is grieving. Throughout 2007, we’ll continue to give voice to all kinds of stories that need to be told, and we’ll work hard to inspire you with information and ideas. That’s our mission, and we look forward to pursuing it in the coming year. Wishing you health, happiness and much success in 2007!
